Irish Texel All Ireland

The Irish Texel Sheep Society is delighted to celebrate its 50th year! From humble beginnings, when the first importation of Texels arrived in Raphoe, the Society has grown to become the largest pedigree sheep society and breed association in Ireland. It is only fitting that this milestone year will be marked by a series of special events: The All-Ireland Championships will take place at Athlone Show on Sunday 21st June, commencing at 10:00am. This is shaping up to be one of the biggest Texel shows in the history of the breed. The judge on the day will be George Wilkinson of the renowned Arkle flock, a stalwart of the breed who is well known for his natural-only breeding policy.
