Description
AP Toman long neck banjo, made by the Toman brothers from Lurgan. The Toman name is well known in the bluegrass banjo circles around Ireland and beyond and I believe this is the only long neck they have ever made, certainly never heard of another myself. This one is made from reclaimed timber sourced from the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast. Beautiful hand made instrument with a great tone, lovely action, and superb playability. The same style of banjo played by the great Luke Kelly Perfect for backing folk music, with the additional frets giving a lower tuning to E, rather than the standard scale 5 string in G. Can also be used as a standard 5 string by adding a capo to the 3rd fret. Comes with railway spikes on the 10th, 12th, 13th, and 15th frets, OR on the 7th, 9th, 10th, and 12th if using with capo on the 3rd for normal bluegrass tuning. Also has a Shubb long sliding 5th string Capo fit, so can be easily capoed on any fret.
