The Vimek 870.2 is a compact, highly manoeuvrable forwarder designed for productive thinning work with minimal impact on the forest floor. With a load capacity of up to 7 tonnes, a low overall weight and Vimek’s Dual Steering System, the 870.2 is particularly well suited to working in dense stands and on softer ground where access and ground pressure are important considerations. The machine is available in 6WD or 8WD, with the 8WD version providing additional stability and traction in more demanding conditions. Powered by a 55kW CAT Stage V engine with hydrostatic-mechanical transmission, the 870.2 combines strong pulling performance with efficient fuel use. Crane options include the Vimek-Cranab FC4ET 6.7m and FC5 8.3m, with Intelligent Crane Control available as an option for smoother and more intuitive crane operation. The modern NG cab provides excellent visibility, while Vimek Connect and the My Vimek app give access to machine information, remote support and operational data. With up to 47cm ground clearance and a total steering angle of approximately 53°, the 870.2 offers an excellent combination of capacity, agility and low ground impact.
