Moving back from the chuck is the torque adjustment ring, that allows you to tune-in the screwdriving force exerted before the clutch releases. The torque ring can also be put into drilling mode to prevent the clutch letting go, and turned further, engages the hammer function for concrete and masonry drilling. Rear further is the control for the 2 speed all-metal construction gearbox that allows you to prioritise either speed or torque. The DCF887 impact driver gives you ultimate control over the desired screwdriving or nut driving applications. One of the most striking features of the 887 is the ring of three LEDs around the bit holder.
