Vintage Record No 4 1/2 wide sole smoothing plane

This is a beautiful Vintage Record No 4 1/2 wide sole Smoothing Plane in excellent condition. The body is really clean, the sole is perfectly flat and square. The knob and tote are original rosewood and in perfect condition. The Iron is Tungsten Vanadium steel and is full length. The Iron is razor sharp, set and ready to work. The Record No 4 1/2 plane is a smoothing plane, used for finishing and smoothing wood surfaces, especially larger or wider pieces. These Planes date back as far as 1931.
