Yamaha XT500

Collectors example of a 1978 1U6 Yamaha XT 500, the model year that won the first Dakar under Cyril Neveu. Genuine 1978 XT 500 in beautiful unrestored and original condition, ideal for a collector/enthusiast as this bike is completely unmolested with original paint, plastics, seat, exhaust, luggage rack, keys, documents etc as can be seen in the photos. It took a considerable amount of time to source an example this original and I am the first owner in Ireland. This XT is a German import from the collection of an enthusiast in Bavaria who maintained the bike meticulously and its current condition is a testament to him. It’s a real time machine and rides beautifully it needs absolutely nothing by way of repair it’s ready to ride and is on new tires with a fresh service. It is on Irish ZV plates and l intended on keeping the bike but have found it a bit cramped for my frame which is forcing this very reluctant sale. The bike has some small signs of period wear given its age but nothing that takes away from its overall condition as can be seen in the photographs. Fantastic investment given the cult following these bikes have and as such I would like this to go to an enthusiast who would value it accordingly. Please call or message to arrange a viewing.
