1964 Renault Dauphine Gordini 845cc – Rare Irish-Assembled Example with Remarkable Provenance A beautifully preserved and highly original 1964 Renault Dauphine Gordini, assembled in Dublin and long admired within Irish classic car circles. Owned by its first custodian from 1964–1991 and always garaged, the car had just 44,000 miles when acquired by the current keeper, who was a Renault Main Dealer. At that time, the engine was completely rebuilt by a Renault ‘gold standard’ technician and the body professionally resprayed, with every original part retained. Apart from the paintwork, the car remains extensively original and is kept in heated and dehumidified storage. Featuring a rear-mounted 845cc engine, four-speed gearbox and all-round disc brakes, this Gordini represents one of the finest surviving examples of Renault’s charismatic compact saloon. This particular car has enjoyed a celebrated presence on the show circuit – an outright category winner and overall Best of Show at the 2003 Irish Jaguar & Daimler show in Terenure College, later featured and appearing on the cover of Irish Vintage Scene magazine (2008) and commended at the AXA Classic Car Show, RDS Dublin (2016).
