Description

There are iconic cars, and then there are cars that become part of popular culture. The 1968 Dodge Charger sits firmly in the latter category. From its aggressive hidden-headlamp front end to its sweeping flying buttress rear window and unmistakable Coke-bottle profile, this is one of the most recognisable muscle cars ever built. This particular Charger R/T has been cherished by its owner since 2019, having originally been sourced from Yorkshire. It is an exceptionally honest, well-sorted example built to be driven and enjoyed. Finished in stunning House of Kolor Lemon Yellow, the car was professionally repainted in 2007, when a new black vinyl roof was also fitted. Nearly twenty years later the finish still presents beautifully, with excellent gloss, straight panels and no signs of rust or corrosion. Power comes from the original 383 cubic-inch Mopar V8, rebuilt by renowned UK Mopar specialist Dave Billadeau. Fitted with an Edelbrock intake, MSD ignition, Mopar Performance rocker covers, upgraded cooling fans and a custom stainless steel exhaust, it starts instantly, pulls incredibly hard and sounds exactly as a big-block Mopar should. Backing up the V8 is a reverse-pattern 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission, while an upgraded quick-ratio steering box transforms the driving experience, making the car noticeably sharper and more enjoyable without sacrificing its relaxed cruising nature. The cream interior contrasts beautifully with the bright exterior and remains in excellent condition throughout. The additional gauges have been tastefully integrated and suit the character of the car perfectly. Before being offered for sale, we invested over €6,000 bringing the Charger up to the standard we expect. The work included a comprehensive overhaul of the braking system with new front wheel cylinders, brake shoes, bearings, seals and fitting hardware, refurbishment of the rear brakes, replacement engine mountings, together with a full service and extensive road testing. Out on the road it is simply fantastic. The rebuilt 383 delivers effortless torque, the custom exhaust provides an unforgettable soundtrack and the car settles comfortably into motorway cruising at 80mph. It is fast, comfortable and every journey feels like an occasion. Few Chargers offer this combination of looks, performance and recent investment. This is a genuine, properly sorted 1968 Charger R/T that is ready for its next custodian to simply turn the key and enjoy. We don’t believe classic cars should spend their lives hidden away in garages. This Charger is ready to be driven, enjoyed and make every journey feel like an event.

I bought my first Classic Pajero from Simon recently. From my first interaction with Simon to delivery I had a very pleasant experience. When viewing the vehicle, I took my time and Simon let me take as long as I wanted and he was there in the background to answer any questions I had. I felt very comfortable throughout the viewing. Due to my personal circumstances, the purchase took a little longer than usual, and Simon was very understanding about this. I came away with a beautiful Pajero and felt confident and extremely happy with my purchase. I can’t speak highly enough of Simon and his team. Finally I’d just like to say, I’m not a collector or dealer, I just turned 50 and decided to treat myself, so if you are thinking of your first classic car, I can highly recommend Deane Motors and Simon.

Simon is an absolute gent, I was stuck for a way to get out to the dealership and he picked me up from Dublin City centre (now that was him being sound, don’t expect him to do that for you too!) but the whole way out I got to learn alot about life and business from him! A very genuine man, absolutely does not fit the stereotype of a sleazy salesman trying to rip you off! He’s genuinely prioritising a great customer experience for you over squeezing any bit of extra cash out of you! They’ve a serious collection of motors on offer there too! I highly highly recommend 🫡

I recently bought a Jaguar XJS from Simon at Deane Motors and had a very good experience throughout. Simon was great to deal with, responsive and clear in his communication. The car was exactly as described and presented to a high standard, and everything was delivered as promised and on time. The process was straightforward from first enquiry to handover. If you’re looking for a classic car and want a professional, no-hassle experience, I would highly recommend Deane Motors.
