1974 MG BGT V8 3.5L Factory Car

1974 MG BGT V8 3.5L 5 SP Gearbox This listing is for a very rare Factory MG BGT V8 This car previously belonged to a well enthusiast on the Irish Motor Sport scene. Following his death It has been in storage for the past few years and is now being offered for sale. The car was assembled on the 11th December 1974 and originally delivered to a Howell’s in  Cardiff. It was imported into Ireland and registered in Cork in 1977, being given the number 9381 ZK. Current indicated mileage is 91k miles. In the late 2000’s the car was brought over to well-known MG tuning specialists, Frontline Developments in the UK, where it was fitted with a 5-speed gearbox. 4 Barrell Edelbrock Carburetor, Offenhauser Manifold amongst other desirable modifications. Fitted with Spax adjustable shocks. The car sounds fantastic, and the 5-speed gearbox is a game changer, meaning the car can sit at 120 klm without the engine screaming. The car is in very good condition throughout and is very presentable. Being over 40 years old it is NCT exempt. However, it will need some recommissioning before being used daily as it has only covered a couple of hundred kilometres in the past 6 years. Unfortunately, the family could not trace the history of the car. However, it is well known in MG circles. The car is being marketed at a very realistic €20k which takes into account the need for a good service. In total, just 2591MG BGT V8’s were manufactured . They are extremely rare in Ireland and even rarer when they have an old Irish reg number. The car is currently in storage in Wicklow, so viewing will be by appointment only.
