Vehicle Overview
Description
We all know that Toyotas are built to last, and none more-so than the J series 4×4 whose production run lasted no less than 41 years. This 1977 short wheelbase Land Cruiser FJ40 is the result of one of a series of specially commisioned J40 Land Cruisers and has been subjected to one of the most meticulous restorations we’ve ever seen. The beautiful Grey bodywork and original 15″ wheels with Bridgestone Dueler A/T tyres give a sophisticated but purposeful look to the timeless design, and every single detail is flawless – from the bumpers to the NATO hitch, lights to the chrome hubcaps. Flashes of the meticulously rebuilt chassis and suspension are proudly on display as you walk around the car with every fixture and fitting being zinc plated, galvanised or powdercoated to perfection. The tasteful custom black/grey tweed interior is a work of art, too, with all fixtures and fitting looking factory fresh. Power Steering is a welcome feature, too, and the folding rear bench seats allow for you and 6 of your friends to travel in retro style, too. This FJ40 (FJ for petrol versions, BJ for diesel) isn’t just a show car, either, with its bulletproof 2F 4.2 6-cylinder petrol engine, 3-speed manual gearbox, Hi/Low range, locking front hubs, front disc brakes and powersteering giving it proper off road capability – all of which have been completely rebuilt. The full, and exhaustive list of work carried out is as follows: ● New upholstery, new original headliner and sunvisors, new floor mats ● Refurbished original 15” steel rims (non split) + new Bridgestone Duller A/T tyres, new genuine chrome hub caps ● New original wing mirrors, interior mirror, badges, trims, door seals, gear knobs, interior door handles, exterior handles, window winders, exterior bonnet latches ● New genuine headlights, signal lamps, spot lights, taillights, reflectors ● New brake booster, brake master, brake hoses, drum brake cylinders and pads, new rotors and pads, hand brake cable ● New exhaust system, muffler, gaskets, ceramic coated intake and exhaust manifold ● New shock set, tie rod ends, steering coupling, rebuilt steering box, rebuilt power steering unit, shackle bushes, body mount bushes, galvanised hard lines ● New clutch kit, clutch hoses, clutch master & slave ● New genuine speedo cluster ● New starter motor and alternator ● New radiator, hoses, clamps, thermostat, thermostat housing, water pump, fan, belts, coolant tank ● Bulk galvanised hardware, brake lines, clutch lines ● New leaf spring shackles, shackle pins and galvanised axle hoops ● New driveshaft universal joints and front and rear axle seals ● New wheel bearings set, swivel hub seals, inner and outer gaskets ● New seatbelts ● Refurbished fuel tank ● New genuine door locks, door latches, ignition barrel ● New exterior and interior hardware ● Bulk new interior trims and parts J40s are a timeless icon, and this spectacular example is as close as you’ll get to buying a brand new one.

I recently purchased an e46, 320Ci off Simon from Deane Motors. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience from start to finish. From the first call on Tuesday to picking up the car on Friday, the process was seamless! Someone who really knows their stuff and values his customers. Would highly recommend to anyone in the market.

I just got my Ferrari back from Simon and the lads today after a serious engine out service. They got straight into the job when the took in the car and had it back in a very reasonable timeframe. The lads kept me up to date throughout with videos, photos and general updates. You wouldn't get this level of transparency from a Main Dealer. There were unforeseen issues along the way but they just got on with it and were able to order awkward parts where possible and had parts made where they were not available or too expensive to buy. Very few mechanic operations left of this type in Ireland with this wealth of knowledge and experience and they are not afraid to work on the higher end old cars. I will definitely be back to them for any future maintenence. Now all I need is a dry day to enjoy this V8 on the backroads again!!

Recently purchased my M4 from Simon and he was a pleasure to deal with from day one. After delivery there were some minor issues with the car, which were unknown to Simon and his Team, but he took the car back and fixed everything. He even provided a loan car to keep me on the road for a few days. As above, a pleasure to deal with and I can’t wait to do business with them again soon. Also a quick shout out to Simon Walsh who was so helpful throughout.
