Description

For sale 1982 Datsun 280ZX 2.8 automatic 2+2 with T-Tops .Project Car. The T-top 280ZX was one of the most distinctive variants of the model, offering the best of both worlds: the rigidity and refinement of a coupe with the open-air enjoyment of a convertible. This desirable T-top example, it is powered by the smooth 2.8 straight-six engine, coupled to an automatic gearbox, giving the car the touring characteristics for which the 280ZX has long been admired. The car starts and runs well and is driving fine, it came with a replacement engine installed, showing approximately 80,000 miles, in a body with approximately 120,000 miles. Current mileage: 122,269. Vintage tax, NCT exempt. A great project for someone looking to take on an increasingly rare classic and finish it to their own specification. The interior is fitted with a wonderfully evocative 1980s velour interior, (front seats refurbished), original Datsun radio/stereo and a Springalex wood rim steering wheel. Plus a separate blue tooth stereo. The car has had a considerable amount of work carried out, including alternator, belts, plugs, replacement brake lines, track rods, suspension components, exhaust and various other parts. It also comes with a large quantity of spare parts from the donor engine car and I'm throwing in all the spare parts I accumulated for it which could be extremely useful for anyone taking the project further. The mechanical components are mostly sorted, but some major rust has developed underneath and various spots of rust/corrosion on the panels. It needs a considerable amount of structural metalwork completed. If you have a welder and some time, you will end up with a brilliant car for a fraction of the market value. I had intended to have the car complete myself, but unfortunately numerous health issues have meant that I have been unable to finish the project. Rather than see the car remain unfinished, I have reluctantly decided to offer it for sale so that it can be completed
