Vehicle Overview
Description
Find us at deanemotors.ie Renault has quite an impressive back catalogue of Hot Hatches to its name, and it all started with this, the Renault 5 GT Turbo. First registered in Hungary in 1985, this Phase One is thought to be the one of the very first produced and one of not the oldest surviving example in Europe and is in wonderful condition. Not to be mistaken with the mid-engined Renault 5 Turbo, the GT Turbo is a more conventional Renault 5 layout but is powered by a 1.4 Turbo engine and was fitted with many other upgrades over its standard siblings such as wider wheelarches and side skirts, lowered suspension, faster steering rack, deep bolstered seats and lots of other little touches. Still wearing its original Electric Blue paintwork, this GT Turbo is very impressive and has remained completely standard over its 133,000 kms. This was not your average MAX POWER Renault 5. The original 6-slot alloy wheels have benefitted from a refurbishment new tires and the two dash panels have been re-trimmed in black Alcantara. The engine, gearbox and turbo have all also received a complete rebuild in recent years and have not driven more than 5k km since. We have just serviced the car and she is running like a dream. Being a 40 year old car she is NCT exempt now also. The car is an absolute blast to drive and the ‘Hot Hatch’ badge could not be more appropriate. Loads of boost, great gear change and handling that would make you think twice before making a quick maneuver. It’s a handful. The car is presented with a nice history file charting its journey to Ireland and represents a rare opportunity to obtain an early and unmolested example of one of the wildest hatches produced in the ‘80s. This is the best priced and lowest mileage Renault 5 Turbo in Europe. **Viewing strictly by appointment. All cars supplied with valid NCT where appropriate.**

Recently purchased my M4 from Simon and he was a pleasure to deal with from day one. After delivery there were some minor issues with the car, which were unknown to Simon and his Team, but he took the car back and fixed everything. He even provided a loan car to keep me on the road for a few days. As above, a pleasure to deal with and I can’t wait to do business with them again soon. Also a quick shout out to Simon Walsh who was so helpful throughout.

I’ve bought already 3 cars from Simon and Simon - such a stunning selection of cars for nearly any budget, and more importantly amazing after sale customer care. All 3 cars were in great condition with low mileage, ready to go to any car show. The latest one - Mercedes w201 has only 78k km (less than 50k miles!) in its 34 years, what a find by Simon and team! I had a small mechanical issue with one of the cars after the purchase - we arranged a repair and I was immediately provided with a replacement car (a wonderful experience on its own - a powerful beast with 250 bhp!). Was receiving updates on the repair and timing along the way in text messages, which was really nice. Always feeling welcomed and respected even buying comparatively cheaper cars. I could really feel their love to cars, knowledge and professionalism. I will for sure be back again and trade in for the next car!

Superb service from start to finish with Simon. Came down to cork to collect my car and had it sold within a few weeks, and got a great deal. All communication was open and transparent. Would highly recommend and will use in future.
