1995 Mercedes 320ce Sportline (low mileage)

There are very few cars that represent the “they don’t build them like they used to” era quite like a C124 Mercedes-Benz Coupe. And this one is a particularly special example. Built at a time when Mercedes engineering seemingly came before accountants, the pillarless E-Class Coupe combined exceptional build quality, Bruno Sacco styling and genuine long-distance ability. Thirty years later, they still feel incredibly well engineered. Under the bonnet is the superb M104 3.2-litre 24-valve straight-six producing 217bhp, paired with the four-speed automatic gearbox. Smooth, torquey and almost effortless, it suits the character of the C124 perfectly. Importantly, this example was factory specified with Option 653 – Sports Chassis, giving it lowered sports suspension and originally wider 8-hole alloys. Today it sits beautifully on freshly refurbished AMG Monoblocks, giving the car just the right stance without taking away from its originality. Supplied new by Mercedes-Benz Chelsea in August 1995, it remained under their care for many years and has had just four keepers from new, including two exceptionally long-term owners of 17 and 12 years. The history file is huge, with the original books, service book, invoices and receipts documenting its life from its PDI at zero miles right through to its current mileage of approximately 75,500 miles. Recent expenditure has been extensive. In 2025 alone, over £3,400 was spent with Colin Ferns Ltd on an engine wiring harness, Lambda sensor and air-mass meter. The car subsequently received a full strip and repaint by a prestige body shop, followed by engine and gearbox servicing and new coil packs. Further work during 2026 has included four-wheel alignment, sunroof overhaul, engine service, spark plugs, air filter, air-conditioning regas, water pump, fan clutch, thermostat, serpentine belt, front and rear discs and pads and new handbrake shoes. The interior has also been carefully restored, with the seats removed, deep cleaned and professionally recoloured, while the steering wheel has been reconditioned. Underneath has received preventative LanoGuard treatment to help preserve what is now becoming a genuinely collectible Mercedes. Three original keys are present along with the spare wheel, jack, warning triangle, original book pack and an extensive history file. The original Blaupunkt radio is also available.
