Presented here is a 3 owner 1989 BMW E30 325i Sport M-Tech 2 finished in Diamond Black Metallic over Silver Leather. An original Irish car, factory M-Tech 2, matching numbers engine and gearbox, and exactly the sort of thing that makes grown men stand silently in sheds pretending they’re “just looking at it.” This is a very early M-Tech 2 car, meaning it retains the earlier the original M-Tech 1 steering wheel before BMW changed over later in production to the Tech 2 wheel. A lovely little piece of Irish BMW history that somehow survived boy racers, bad modifications and people who think M badges belong on diesel 3 Series. The E30 325i has always lived in the shadow of the M3, but the funny thing is… they’re arguably nicer to actually own and drive. More usable, more relaxed, cheaper to maintain and powered by BMW’s glorious M20 straight-six which remains one of the great engines of the era. This particular car underwent a significant mechanical and structural overhaul by X-Works BMW approximately five years ago and has covered very little mileage since being placed into storage. Importantly, this wasn’t a quick blow-over restoration done with filler and optimism. The engine was rebuilt, the driveline and suspension were also all refreshed and a purple tag steering rack fitted. The car received major recommissioning works and the common E30 rust areas were properly addressed including a new scuttle panel and pillar repairs. The work was completed correctly with the full interior removed, dashboard out, heater boxes removed and everything stripped back properly rather than patched over for the next unfortunate owner to discover later.
