For sale 1962 Ford Consul Cortina Mk 1 De Luxe 2 Door in Imperial Maroon. As research shows the first Mk1 Consul badged Cortina's were launched at the Earls Court Motorshow to the public in September of 1962. This example in Imperial Maroon colour was built in September of 1962, so is considered one of the few surviving first examples with unique features not found on later models. A rare opportunity for the serious Ford collector to own a piece of motoring history. Restored to a high standard of its former glory some 20 years ago is still in excellent condition including its paintwork , bodywork and drivability. It benefits from some small upgrades to enhance safety and drivability in todays traffic including upgrading of the engine from 1200 to 1500 (origional engine available if required) , front disc breaking, temperature and oil gauges not standard in 1962 model .
