Mercedes-Benz 500 1986

This is an advert I hoped I'd never have to post, but my hand is forced, and it's time to sell my 500SEC project. I have finally come to terms with the fact that I won't get the time to finish this project at any point in the next few years, I have too many projects on the go and not enough time. It's a 1986 Gen2 500SEC, sold new in Belfast, and with ONLY ONE REGISTERED OWNER FROM NEW. It's astral silver over blue leather, and has 200,000 miles. 5.0 V8 automatic. It's a project, and won't be driven away, it'll need trailering. It's biggest failing is rust in the usual spots, the base of the rear window is gone (though pre-formed repair panels are available new for this area - https://kurth-classics-autoparts.de/gb/exterieur/343-mercedes-c126-sec-rear-window-repair-panel-a1266470501.html) and the wheel wells have rust too. The car was driven on the road a year and a half ago, but hasn't been run since. It's starting up but only running on 5/6 cyl, it isn't getting enough fuel and I believe it's probably sucked detritus up from the tank. (Probably clean/rebuild fuel distributor) It has new fuel pumps, and the injectors have been removed, ultrasonically cleaned and refitted. It's wearing a beautiful set of paintmatched Penta wheels, and 4x new tires. If I didn't have too many other projects on the go already, it's probably a few months away from seeing the road. I hope to give someone else that satisfaction and let it go on to a good home. Being a 1986 NI car, it'll be €200 to VRT, €56 to tax for the year, and NCT exempt from next year.
