Rover P6 (2000) 1966

If the ad is up it's available. 1966 Rover 2000 with a later 2200 motor installed, 4 speed Rover manual transmission. Early cars like this one were equipped with single big SU carbs, and that is what this one has. Estimated power is 110 hp. I have owned the car since June 2019. I bought it from a dealer in Donegal. It was originally a UK car and was brought to Ireland in the 1990s. A previous owner did some restoration work on it, including partial paint and some repairs. I suspect this was also when the 2200 motor was installed. Odometer shows about 23,000 miles. I cannot attest to the accuracy. The car was dry stored for years before I owned it, and has been the whole time I've had it. The main noticeable features on the outside are the full length Webasto sunroof (installed in period, but recently-ish replaced and in perfect condition), excellent chrome, the early alloy grille, and super rare willow green paint. The early cars are thin on the ground, and particularly in Ireland, and they have a distinct look compared to the later cars. There are a couple of non-original features: the chrome strips on the side are from a later car, and the hub caps are also. I figured out from old receipts that the mirrors, which fit the car perfectly, are actually Mercedes items purchased new from the Mercedes dealer in the 1990s. It has an 1980s era radio installed, which works. These features all pre-date my ownership. There are 3 dealer-added period features: the Webasto sunroof, Stabelt shoulder belts, and front headrests, which match the seats well. The dealer in Donegal replaced the rear brake calipers and did some paint work. I have refurbished the fuel pump, added additional seat belts, and replaced a cracked exhaust manifold. It has been very reliable and always runs. I put new Toyo tyres on the car 4 years ago. The interior is quite good. The carpet dates from the 1990s restoration. The front seats are cracked at the front seam. Back seats are great. No Trades
