Recently bought an 142 Avensis from John. He was a pleasure to deal with and as promised he sent some additional documentation for the car weeks later. Based on my experience I'd be happy to recommend him to others.

Such an unpleasant experience!He booked an appointment for me to see the car, and I even took time off work to go to his garage as I was far. Just a couple of hours before the appointment, he cancelled it. When I went there the next day, he casually said he had gone to watch a horse race — that’s why he cancelled.
Anyway, I ended up buying the car. After I paid the deposit, he asked if I could pay the remaining amount in cash. I said I would try and that it wouldn’t be a problem. However, due to my busy schedule, I couldn't get the cash from the bank, so I had to pay by card instead.
As soon as he heard that, he started swearing and complaining about having to pay taxes — which every business should pay! His attitude completely changed and he became extremely rude.
I wouldn’t recommend anyone do business with him.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE. SOLD ME AN ILLEGALLY MODIFIED CAR.
I bought a Mitsubishi ASX off John last year. The engine blew within the year and I reached out for help on it as there was a warning sign for the engine on it when I bought it but he assured me it was just a fault and to ignore it. Turns out the engine was illegally modified (DPF) to perform better (reason the engine blew). Either the team did the checks and John knowingly and illegally sold me an illegally modified car or there was no checks done on the car and sold me a car that nearly killed me, my partner and our dog on the motorway. I have contacted JOHN himself numerous times which he has seen on WhatsApp and never bothered to reply.
