Volkswagen Beetle 1971

I am, with a heavy heart, selling my beloved 1971 VW Beetle. I bought the Beetle in May 2019 in England and then arranged for it to be imported to Ireland when I retired to Achill Island on the west coast of Ireland in 2023. I have all the documentation you need to show the Beetle was imported in 2023. The Beetle has Mayo registration 71MO10004 and the previous UK registration was VDW 400K. If you are looking at this advert, you will understand that when you own a classic Beetle it becomes part of the family. My own Beetle is no exception. My main reason for selling is that in my new home on Achill Island, I have nowhere to store it and this is why it is priced competitively so a new owner can enjoy it. Good points. The Beetle has a 1.3 engine. I am just back from a 4 week break and the battery is flat. But this can be easily remedied. The Beetle is driveable and I have taken it out for runs on a regular basis. It is a real eye turner and fun drive. On St Patrick’s Day 2024, it led the classic car parade here on Achill Island. It often turns up at local events here in and around Achill where we have several owners of classic cars. I have two sets of keys. Tidy interior. No adaptations have been carried out as far as I am aware. Low mileage at 36,134. Original cobalt blue. Crook lock. What needs to be improved. The main issue is the Beetle’s bodywork. I have provided candid photos so you can see the extent of the work you would need to undertake to get this classic car back in his prime state. The windscreen wipers need to be fixed. I cannot open the boot at the moment – the mechanism in the glove compartment seems to be stuck. I am sure in the right hands the Beetle will be transformed back to its former glory.
