Vintage Mellerio Sapphire & Diamond Ring Platinum

New in is this beautiful sapphire and diamond ring made by the famous French jewellers Mellerio. The ring dates from around the 1970/80s. Mellerio are the oldest jewellery firm in the world dating back to 1613 and the firm is still family run 15 generations later. The ring is set with a beautiful oval cut sapphire held in a four corner double claw setting and weighing approx. 2.4ct and surrounded by four marquise cut diamonds and four round cut diamonds in a beautiful and very unusual pattern. The diamonds total approx. 0.65ct The sapphire is a rich royal blue colour and offset perfectly against the white diamonds. The ring is set entirely in platinum and raised above a slender platinum band. The ring is fully signed ‘Mellerio Paris’ and numbered. The ring is also fully hallmarked with the French assay mark for platinum and tested for same. The finger size is a K1/2 (US 5.5) and can easily be re-sized up or down.
