We rented a motorhome from Thompson Leisure for a 2 week road trip around Ireland. Customer service was great and the motorhome was spotless and everything in great working order. Steph was super helpful and quick to respond to any queries in the run up to our holiday and was there at pick up and drop off making everything seamless with the rental. Hired campervan for a week. Got brand new campervan with only 100 miles on the clock. Everything was 100% from start to finish. Had to change few detailes no probleb. Even got pick up and drop of times changed to suit me beter.

I purchased a 2023 motorhome from Thompson Leisure which, by the time finance is repaid, will cost in the region of £93,000.

At just under 3 years old and approximately 43,000 miles, the vehicle has suffered a major engine failure involving the timing system while being driven — something I would not expect on a vehicle of this age.

The most disappointing aspect has been the response from the supplying dealer. Despite raising the issue with them, I was advised that as the vehicle is out of warranty and not serviced through them, they have no responsibility and I should pursue the matter with the manufacturer.

I appreciate warranties have limits, however this is a significant mechanical failure on what is still a relatively new vehicle, and I expected a higher level of support and aftercare.

The matter is now being progressed through the finance company and manufacturer.
