Government EV Scrappage Scheme Terms & Conditions 1.The Government EV Scrappage Scheme is expected to commence in July 2026 and is subject to final approval, publication of scheme rules and availability of funding. 2.Eligible customers may qualify for oA Government scrappage grant of €5,000 for an eligible petrol or diesel vehicle aged 13 years or older and oAn EV purchase grant of up to €3,500 towards the purchase of an eligible new electric vehicle. 3.Maximum combined Government support available is €8,500, subject to eligibility and approval. 4.The scheme will operate on a first-come, first-served basis and is expected to remain available only until the Government's allocated fund is exhausted. 5.Eligibility criteria, including vehicle age, ownership requirements, residency requirements and vehicle qualification criteria, will be determined by the Department of Transport and/or the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). 6.Customers are responsible for ensuring they meet all Government eligibility requirements before applying. 7.Government grants are not guaranteed and remain subject to official approval and fund availability. 8.The EV purchase grant applies only to eligible new electric vehicles approved under the Government scheme. 9.From 31 July 2026, the Government EV grant is expected to apply only to eligible electric vehicles with a retail price not exceeding €50,000, subject to official confirmation. 10.Vehicles accepted for scrappage must be surrendered in accordance with the requirements of the scheme and processed through an authorised treatment facility where required. 11.Frank Keane Volkswagen / MG is not responsible for any changes to, suspension of, or withdrawal of Government grants or incentives. 12.This advertisement is provided for information purposes only.
