Available to view in our Lucan, Dublin showrooms. Restored and rebuilt to a high standard. The Bechstein Model 3 Grand Piano (often written as Model III) is a highly revered concert standard grand piano produced by the historic German manufacturer Bechsteinaround the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it is a rare and prestigious model heavily favored by concert pianists for its expressive capability and massive dynamic range. Key Specifications & Performance Dimensions: Typically 240 cm (7'10") long and approximately 152 cm (5'0") wide. Keyboard: A full 88-note keyboard (7 ¼ octaves). Acoustic Design: It features an overstrung design and traditional under-damper action. Tonal Profile: Because of its expansive soundboard and exceptional string length, the Model III delivers an incredibly rich, deep bass and a smooth, singing treble. It is significantly warmer and more resonant than smaller vintage models like the 200 cm Model V. Rarity and Restorability The Model III grand is considered a rare find on the secondary market compared to the more ubiquitous Model V. Because of their premium build quality and historical value, these pianos are prime candidates for complete restoration. High-end restorations usually involve restringing, replacing hammers and dampers, and reviving the hand-polished casework (often found in elegant rosewood, ebonised black, or rare burr walnut). www.obriainpianogallery.com
