Great experience buying my Tiguan from blackwater motors. Neil was very easy and straight forward to deal with. He was very quick to respond to any questions I had. We bought our car here. The sale was good and painless. However we're not very impressed with the maintenance department. It's all very diy for the customers: book it in yourself using a machine, drive yourself in and out (or pay €50 for a replacement car and pray there's availability), ring them to find out if your car is ready (regardless of requesting a call back through said machine), been told when you ring that "oh yes! it's just being washed, it will be ready just before 6pm" but of course it's not washed and please print the service report yourself at home. Not impressed with "the service".  We went home wondering if anything was actually done to the car.

I am very disappointed with the level of service I have consistently received at Volkswagen Forge Hill Cork. Especially the experience with the service manager Alan O’Shea.

Given the premium pricing, I expect a high standard of care. Unfortunately, this has not been my experience over multiple services. My vehicle is fitted with a tracker, and on several occasions it has shown harsh acceleration and braking while in the dealer’s possession. In addition, the seat, armrest, and steering wheel positions are changed and never returned to how they were found.

Communication has been extremely poor. On multiple occasions, I was told I would receive follow-up calls with further details, yet weeks passed without any response, despite repeated attempts to make contact.

More seriously, on the last two services the oil level was left very low. I had to top it up myself within days of collecting the car. There is no oil leak, as the level has remained stable since topping it up, which raises concerns about the quality of the service carried out.

Alan O’Shea told me directly that he does not want to service my car because it is a Japanese import and modified. I was requesting a routine oil and filter service only, with no software or multimedia updates required. In those circumstances, I cannot understand why the vehicle being a Japanese import or modified should be an issue.

Volkswagen’s own service booking process asks whether a vehicle is modified and makes it clear that any limitation relates to software updates. For a basic oil and filter service, where no software work is involved, there is no clear technical or practical reason for the service to be refused.

In addition, basic service requests are repeatedly ignored. Despite selecting a car wash during online check-in, my car is never washed. I also request extra oil during check-in and am charged for it, yet the extra oil is not left in the car as requested. After this service, I sent three separate emails raising this issue and received no response.

Overall, this experience has fallen well below what I expect from an authorised Volkswagen service centre. As a result, I will be having my vehicle serviced by a Škoda dealer going forward.
