I recently changed my Cupra Formentor 2ltr diesel to a new Cupra Formentor hybrid and from the start Ger was a pleasure to deal with and gave me several options to contemplate and never put me under pressure to make a decision, I must say in all my years of dealing with different dealerships James Barry Motors in limerick are Excellent at what they do and the service is always made to be personal, which is one of the key aspects I chose to get my second Cupra Formentor from them. We recently had an issue with our Citroën C-Cross bought from the dealership which had us fairly anxious, but thankfully it turned out to be something very simple in the end. I have to say James Casey in James Barry Motors was excellent to deal with from start to finish.

I was probably a bit argumentative at times out of frustration, but James handled everything very professionally and kept things calm and clear the whole way through. He explained things properly and left us with great confidence in the car again by the time we left.

Credit where it’s due — James is a real asset to the company and we really appreciated the way he dealt with the situation.

Updated review after receiving reply and discussing with the dealership:

The staff in there are helpful and kind. There was an instance where we didn’t see eye to eye, which isn’t always possible. There was an instance as well when the service charge, due to an expired plan, wasn’t mentioned apart from it being on a book in sheet that I didn’t read but rather just signed (that’s my mistake not their’s). Other than that, in majority it was all great. I would recommend the dealership and the team as they are lovely people; my not so good experience is perhaps due to car manufacturer choice.

Unacceptable customer service skills.

I arrive at the dealership and talk to this young fella (didn’t introduce himself) with glasses and facial hair. He was nice and professional until we were pointing out things wrong with the car. Excuses were health check was done on the car, the car is 12 years old, it’s a trade in?? It doesn’t matter if it’s a trade in or not it’s embarrassing to sell a car with rust and stone chips all over the bonnet, a corroded coolant pipe, black smoke coming out the engine cap aswell as the dipstick at such an expensive looking dealership. He didn’t know what he was talking about. No other options offered and the lack of care was just awful. When told what we really thought about the car that’s when things got ugly and we felt extremely unwelcome.

Extremely rude staff, highly unprofessional and would never ever come back. Spend your money elsewhere don’t bother coming to a place that doesn’t even know what they’re talking about.
