Honest people with unbeatable car rental prices and Joe is a pleasure to deal with. The car was spotless, comfortable, and sipped petrol!

Well I haven’t bought a car here but the service at the counter in the shop is EXCELLENT. I had been there before and thought that also but today my mum needed a mass card and honestly in most places people look at you asking what is a mass card. No not in this place…the guy actually pulled up a range of cards for us to choose from and was just so nice. I respect. Thanks that person who sold us that card - great service

The car was exactly what I ordered and I had no issues. Staff were very helpful from start to finish and would definitely recommend to others and would use again. Special thanks to Marta who was extremely understanding and I was able to extend the length of my rental with no problem. She is so good at her job and it’s always a pleasure talking to her.

Joe and Ciaran O’Connor are just top class. You need go no further to rent or buy a vehicle.
I had reserved a rental for my visit home from New York in June. The day before I was due to fly out I managed to break two toes. I had to wear a boot and the insurance wouldn’t cover me. They were both so kind and understanding of my situation and with no hesitation refunded my deposit. I will be returning for another visit later on this year and I definitely will be renting if not buying a vehicle from O’Connors. They are the best of the best!

If I could give zero stars, I would.

Our experience with Joe O'Connor Motors was one of the most stressful consumer experiences our family has ever had.

We bought a car from the dealership in good faith. Within a day of bringing it home, we realised something was seriously wrong with it. We contacted the garage immediately to report the issues and asked for a refund.

Instead of resolving our concerns, the owner offered my husband €500 on the condition that we would never come back, not even to have the car repaired. We found that incredibly unprofessional and felt as though he was trying to buy us off rather than stand over the vehicle he had sold.

The very next day, the car began breaking down. We contacted the dealership again, as the problems had clearly become more serious. Initially, the dealership agreed by text to refund us, but that agreement was later withdrawn and we were repeatedly refused a refund despite raising concerns from the very beginning.

When we went back to the dealership to try to resolve the situation, the experience became extremely unpleasant. During that meeting, I personally heard the owner tell my father that if he didn't leave, it "would be very easy to damage your car." We found that completely unacceptable and intimidating. No customer should ever be spoken to like that.

Despite everything, we still gave the dealership an opportunity to put things right. Before leaving on holiday, we left the Mazda with them for 10 days expecting to come home to a repaired car. Instead, when we called after returning to arrange collection, we were told that the turbo had failed while the car was in the dealership's possession.

We were then told we would receive a full refund. However, when we arrived to collect it, we were shocked to discover that the dealership had deducted €500 for "use of the car." Considering we reported problems from the day after purchase and had been trying to return the vehicle from the outset, we believe this charge was completely unjustified.

The financial loss was frustrating, but the way we were treated throughout the process was even worse. Buying a car should be an exciting experience, not one that leaves customers feeling intimidated, ignored and out of pocket.

Although we eventually got most of our money back, it came only after a long and unnecessary battle, and we still lost €500 despite being told we would receive a full refund.

We have retained video evidence of the interactions referred to in this review, along with other records relating to our dealings with the dealership.

Everything described in this review is based on our firsthand experience.

Based on our experience, I would never buy another vehicle from Joe O'Connor Motors, nor would I recommend them to anyone looking for a dealership they can trust. After everything that happened, we wouldn't set foot inside the place again, even in an emergency. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
