Wilsons Auctions is a family owned business, formed in 1936 by William J Wilson and is now directed by his son Ian Wilson.

The company has grown from a single auction site in Northern Ireland to become the largest independent auction company in the UK and Ireland with over 300 members of staff and an annual hammer total in excess of &pound;250 million.

Terrible customer service. They’re selling all these high end Rolex hublot watches etc approx £20k value, and they wouldn’t care less about customers. After calling up 4 times requesting some info on a particular lot, the Rolex was being sold with no papers or box so I wanted to enquire whether it even works before placing a bid. Four times I was told someone will be in touch with me with appropriate info, I was contacted back a total of zero times. It’s a pity the staff are so ignorant, some nice stock in there but how can you pay £20k without them even bothering to call you back after 4 calls. Would avoid Dublin branch do a better job.

Several years ago I reported to Wilsons that family stolen medals from ww1 could appear for sale in the auction.  Rather than record the details and assist they said it was not their problem.
Thankfully another auction did assist and the medals were returned to the family.

They ddvertised a job role for someone to start ASAP for admin assistant. I left the job I was In and could only give 1 days notice as Wilsons needed me ASAP. They let me go after 2 days as they 'misjudged their workload' didn't even tell me to my face and now I'm jobless. Should have listened to all the negative feedback I heard about this comany as a whole but I guess I was reeled in with lies and false promises. Hope they feel good about themselves. Very unprofessional company and don't onide by covid regulations also.
