My experience in purchasing an electric car for the first time was put at ease by BYD Waterford. The salesmen esp Dylan was excellent. Could answer every question I asked and more.  I purchased the dolphin surf and i absolutely love driving this car.  So safe and no regrets.

Just collected my new BYD Sealion 7 Excellence. What a car!!! Comfort, power and refinement all rolled into one beautiful package. Service from Erti and Joe was fantastic. Both of the guys were very friendly,  kept me informed at every stage of the process while I was waiting for car to arrive and gave me a thorough handover explaining everything about car. Can’t recommend BYD Waterford enough!!!

We recently decided to change our diesel car to an all-electric.
Having met with Dylan Brennan in the BYD garage in Waterford, all our concerns were addressed. His knowledge and patience was exemplary. The aftercare is also reassuring, and as for the car we purchased it’s superb..
I would encourage anyone to pop in to BYD Waterford and take one of their cars for a test.

Just drove home with my BYD seal from these guys. Absolutely great experience dealing with Erti! He is young but had full knowledge about BYD, honest, friendly, and look after the whole process from start to finish. We are from Dublin and we felt it was well worth it to make the trek to Waterford to purchase from here. They gave a fair trade in value compared to dealers in Dublin. Totally recommend this dealership!

Ordered a BYD Dolphin Surf Comfort in June 2026 for delivery in mid August. On the first day that we visited the store, the sales person (Michael o'Brien) told us the deposit was €500 and that the deposit was refundable. So far so good. Next day when we went to the dealership again to sign the purchase contract, the same sales person told us the deposit was now €1,000 and refundable "under certain circumstances". We accepted since we were committed to the purchase. A few weeks later our circumstances had changed and I called to cancel the purchase. I was told by Michael o'Brian that he was sorry but there won't be a refund.

OK. I understand that legally, there is no refund (the fine print in the contract said as much). No problem. What I do have a problem with though is that Michael o'Brian explicitly told us on our first visit to the store that the deposit was €500 and refundable. So I guess typical sales person sleaze.

Be that as it may: I hope BYD Waterford enjoy our €1,000 deposit. We'll never come back as customers though.
