Customer Reviews
I had a great experience with Merlin Car Auctions and was genuinely impressed by their professionalism and service from start to finish. The team was helpful, transparent, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. They were always available to answer questions and kept me informed throughout. Their customer service was excellent, and it’s clear they care about providing a trustworthy and efficient experience. I’m very happy with their service and would highly recommend Merlin Car Auctions to anyone looking for a reliable and professional auction company.❤️
arrived just before closing to pay for my car and collect it. In the rush and excitement, I accidentally left my own car in the office parking area, and the gates were locked after 5 PM. I contacted security, and they reached out to the manager at Merlin Auto Auctions, who kindly opened the gates remotely so I could retrieve my car. He really didn’t have to help after hours, but he did — and I truly appreciate it. Thanks to their quick response and professionalism, what could have been a stressful situation turned into a very positive experience. Highly recommend!
I can only say that the people running Merlin car auctions are unbelievable people. We made a mistake bidding on a wrong vehicle and Rebecca in the office done everything she could to help us. We have purchased a number of vehicles over the years from Merlin and it has always been a pleasure, super professional and very helpful. 5 star operation 👌

Misleading descriptions, hidden defects, and aggressive pressure tactics. AVOID! I have previously recommended Merlin Car Auctions to others, but after my recent experience, I am completely disappointed and will never use them again. I won a 2010 Lexus RX 450h (Lot 42, Invoice 43731) at a "No Reserve" auction for €4,400. The auction report completely failed to mention critical, game-changing mechanical failures. Upon arrival, the vehicle turned out to be completely non-functional: it cannot start on its own and strictly requires a Jump Start. Furthermore, the 3.5L V6 engine produces a horrific, heavy rattling noise, sounding exactly like an old farm tractor. None of these severe hybrid battery and engine defects were disclosed in any of their reports. When I refused to pay for a misrepresented vehicle that does not match their description, Merlin's management resorted to cheap pressure tactics. They claimed their "in-house mechanics" checked the car and said the engine issues were "minimal" — a ridiculous statement for a Lexus V6 that sounds like a tractor and won't start. They threatened to forfeit my €500 deposit and permanently ban my account unless I handed over the remaining cash for this piece of scrap metal. They use the "Sold as Seen" policy not as a standard auction term, but as a shield to hide major mechanical failures and trap buyers' deposits. If you do not want to be blackmailed with your deposit over a car with hidden defects that was deliberately misrepresented, stay away from Merlin Car Auction
