First car in my life, and I decided to buy a car from an agent, rather than from a private because of the warranty.

As a secondhand, 10 years old car, it had many problems for sure, like squeaks, battery etc. But thankful I met a good owner, Eoin. He helped me changed bearing, fuses and battery. He performs his duty properly. He just changed a new battery for me yesterday, and I tended to pay for that as I know for the battery replacement, it should not be not included in the warranty, but Eoin refused. He didn’t not charge me for that. He is really a good and kind owner with integrity to run business. It seems I connected with a right car agent, and I decide to buy cars from him in the future.

And by the way, don’t be nervous when you can’t get in touch with Eoin, he is just very busy. The worst case is you can always find him in the office(haha😆). Also never mind what mechanics said. My car was making noise after 2 weeks I bought it, then the mechanics did a test drive with me, he said” I would not fix it if this is my car, it’s not a big problem.” He said this not only once during the test driving. I finally said “This is my car, the first car in my life, I want it silent!” Then, mechanics did not say anything. My car is finally fixed, Eoin changed a bearing for me. So mechanics just stand on their own views, they think it’s not worth to hang a car up only for checking the noise. However, no worries and don’t care about what they said, they will finally help you on this.

Overall, it is a good experience buying a car from Murphy Doyle. Eoin is very good man, secondhand cars always have problems, be patient.

I can't recommend enough murphy Doyle,especially jo was absolutely gentelman to deal with I went from cork to Dublin to buy beautiful car of jo low miles and perfect condition and even he looked after me after the sales much appreciate that.

I bought a car from them 2 years ago.
I found them nice enough to deal with. There was a warning light on the day I went to pick it up which the mechanic just deleted. It came back on a couple of days later but I couldn't find the time to bring it back for a few weeks. They use third party warranty and you must pay €80 for a diagnostic. They identified 2 bad injectors and a bad battery and neither are covered by warranty.
Overall the car hasn't done too bad mechanically but I did have a very costly electrical repair after a damaged seal was letting a massive amount of water in  but I can't say whether the garage would've known the seals were on their way out. Wouldn't use again after theu sold a car with known faults not disclosed. Could've just spent an extra 1k on a better car from another dealer

Purchased a 2015 Honda  from this company last September. All cars sold fully serviced apparently but there has been an engine warning light on pretty much since day one. When I phoned them about it they were not interested in helping and told  me to phone the warranty company Mapafre who advised that the parts that are needed are not covered under the warranty. I traded my old car in towards this car and in addition their man who took my old car away drove through the M50 on the way back and did not pay the toll (I had to pay the toll). There was no interest in doing anything about that either. They are very keen to sell you a car but I have to say the after sales care here is non existent
